This last weekend Sarah and I went to the Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival and of course the camera came along. Her name, the camera, is Salina. She is the product of my stolen camera from nowhere else than Salinas California in May of 2009. At the festival the three of us had a blast, pumpkin art, pumpkin pie, pumpkin beer, chicken pumpkin sausage, even pumpkin ice cream. There were so many booths at this pumpkin festival and there were plenty of great artists. We purchased a fractal print from Dennis Brady. I have tried to work with fractal art and have decided that my brain does not work that way, good thing Dennis’ does! Check out his web page and purchase a print or two, they are amazing!
Since we were there, we purchased 2 large pumpkins, 3 mini pumpkins and a sci-fi looking gourd from Repetto’s for $11.00! Sarah hung out with this massive pumpkin at Repetto’s for a quick pic. Sarah said, “Eww! That is a horrible picture, my eyes are all squinty!” I beg to differ, 28 years from now I will be sitting at the computer with my grand child looking at that picture saying, “Look at how angelic your grand mother is, even with squinty eyes!”
I did put this image up for a reason, other than to show off the radiant glow of my pregnant wife! HDR images and people can be difficult. Since HDR picks up the transfer of light onto a 3 dimensional object over time, it brings out all of the detail from every instance of the image. This can be a downfall when you are trying to capture the beauty of a woman, but it can work in your favor if you are trying to capture the dinginess of a miner. That being said, I had to sample the face and hands from the original image of Sarah to make this one work. Keep that in mind when you are trying to HDR your beautiful wife!
