The Color Tool No One Uses…
Except for maybe f.64 Academy readers, because you know better, right? Today I want to show you five efficient uses for the Color Calibration Tool in Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom. This is quickly becoming my favorite place to get more color in my images because it is so dang natural in its approach to color boosting.

Hi Blake, very interesting tutorial. The title of the video indicates that this can also be used in LR but gave no demonstration for us LR users. My question is, can this be used in LR??

Yes it can be used in Lightroom, the exact same way. They use the same engine in the develop module. Literally the exact same steps apply.

LR, Color Calibration Tool, thanks for reinforcing; I do use it early in my workflow, then into PS (if appropriate) though I will start even earlier as you suggest. I got some great pointers. Thanks!

I have LrC and cannot find “Calibration”, but in develop there’s “HSL/Color” and HSL gives the color sliders for hue/saturation/luminance. It this the same as the “calibration”. Thanks for the video.

Thanks great info. How does this fit with your IP2 presets, should we use this before or after using the presets then go into ZSEpress? So much to learn and think about, wonderful.
Some of the calibration is in IP. Also you would use these to modify colors to your liking after using IP.

Hi Blake. I always find your tutorials so helpful. I thought your ideas about using the Color Calibration Tool sound cool. But I don’t have that tab/panel in my Ps ACR filter. It’s not anywhere in the list of tools. And, I don’t see an settings option to add it. How can I get it if it’s missing? Thx!
Curious about the effect of calibration if you then have to proof the image against most ICC profiles for printing, as saturation tends to broaden the color space and this might trigger out of gamet situations.
