Let’s get to some basics, the color picker
Photoshop is such a massive program it can be very easy to get lost in all of its intricacies. With so many features and bells and whistles, it is very easy for us to get used to one tool and know it very well. All the while we can very easily glance over the basic tools and often take them for granted, like the color picker.
I recently published a tutorial that showcased the difference blend mode. During the tutorial, I spent quite a bit of time in the color picker within Photoshop. After the tutorial was all said and done, I received an email asking me about the color picker and why theirs looked different. After a look at a screenshot form them I could see that a different radio dial had been selected before my tutorial. That clued me in that I have yet to discuss this intricate tool and cover all of the little facets of color selection.
At first glance, it looks like a tool to select a color. However, there is a lot of useful information packed into all the ones and zeros there. In this tutorial, I will break it down for you so you can make better color selections.
Thanks Blake, you just expanded my color picker knowledge 100%. But there is more, in the color library can we use theses colors in the picker? thanks Mike
