30 Days to Photoshop Mastery
This course will help you establish a path for Photoshop Mastery in just 30 days! It’s not magic tricks or gee-whiz information in Photoshop, its practical application meets real-world examples.
Its a sequential build-up of the right information at the right time.
This is truly some great improvements ! Just wish you could show a little more enthusiasm LOL
This was me tame 🙂 I was holding back, haha
this is FANTASTIC!
Thanks Blake for the heads up.
My pleasure!
Thanks, Blake.
Looks great. Bit confusing at the moment.
Major confusion for me is the before and after preview. I am used to pushing one button – before/after, and now they are cycling through.
They did cycle through before also, it has always been annoying.
I updated ACR this morning and was blown away at the changes. At first, I panicked because everything looked so different. But playing with it I got more and more excited about it. A big thank you to Adobe for this!!!
Agreed, but imagine being a photo educator and looking back at all the videos that now need to be redone in my courses 🙁
Thanks Blake for the rundown on the new updates. How exciting! And you aren’t excited or anything, now are you???!!! LOL
Not one iota… nothing exciting about this 🙂
I updated all my programs yesterday and so far the following has happened.
1) An IR Pano of six images (uncompressed A7Rii RAW files) did not stitch correctly whereas on the previous version that did not happen.
2) That Pano being edited in PS, I decided to do something in the ACR filter as a smart object and was in the presets area and BAM! Sent error report to Adobe. Interestingly, there was a small update to PS this morning.
3) My IR user presets can be found in LR but not ACR. All the rest of my presets are ok.
I have not seen speed improvements within the programs but my computer is using high end sixth gen Intel hardware so I suspect there is not much more to do for my hardware.
I do like the updates though. Curves has gotten more fun. 🙂
The little eye symbols – hey, that means, when you use one of your RAW GPS presets, you now see which settings were changed – so it is easier to adjust the preset when an adjustment is needed!
Blake, I love your enthusiasm. I don’t see that much these days. Always enjoy your presentations.
Thanks 🙂
Blake in the candy store. Love your enthusiasm.
Some great changes!!
I am really grateful for this orientation to ACR. I think you are the first to explain it, and so clearly too. I felt like I was in another program altogether at first. Thanks and hope all your reediting goes smoothly.
Awesome! Thank you for your feedback 🙂 It is going well. Slow, but well!
That was brilliant, thanks Blake. 🙂
My pleasure, thank you!
Thanks. I was just looking for white balance in ACR. I can’t find it.
It’s at the top of the Basic adjustments tab, the eyedropper is there too.
I appreciate this summary, Blake. Thank you very much. Will need to play with ACR straight away and see what more I can do with it now .
It looks awesome.
I went into ACR last night, my first questions was, “What happened to ACR?”
My second question was, “I wonder what Blake thinks about the changes.” Thanks for getting a quick walk through out, I feel better about the changes now.
OMG! The change is both good and bad. I understand the need for the format change, however, not certain things are no longer intuitive. For example, once you use the brush and add a new brush, the same settings remain from the 1st brush. If you click the clear arrow, it removes the changes made to the image from the 1st brush. This is terrible. I have actually removed ACR 12.3 and returned to ACR 12.1
Where is the wb tool?
Thanks for always being quick with in-depth tutorials!
After the initial shock, I am really enjoying the update.
Blake
Great ACR change tutorial. You have got me excited and have not even used it yet.
Your devotion to your clientele is so evident with starting the updates immediately for your fantastic recent 30-day Photoshop course. How in heavens do you keep it all up and see your family too?
Okay, so now I will not be seen for the next 24-48 hours as I will be in “Adobe/Blake-World” for quite some time. Hopefully, I will be out of here before they close on my home, lol!!!! Take care, brother!!!!
Thanks Blake! As always very timely info.
I have always admired your enthusiasm with your presentation of the subject you present even since the days of HDRI.
I do not know why it took me so long to join f64 Elite. But I am glad I did.
Thank you.
first thing I did was open up camera raw after the new update …. love it love it love it … great quick tutorial thank you
The latest updates ACR 12.3, Bridge, LRc (classic) and PS are simply great. The update that is now ACR 12.3 for me is what I was looking for for a long time; very similar to LRc. That means I now spend more time in ACR or LRc than before (PS). Previously I used LR more that ACR (that may change). Both have speed boosts, as previously with multiple gradients, radial filters and brushes (the more I used in any one image); chug along. Not any more even with multiple local adjustments!
I’m on day 2 of 30 Days to Ps Mastery. Wow! I’ll keep going and can’t wait for the updated videos. I think I’m over 50% convinced to abandon Lightroom Classic and switch to Bridge/ACR.
I love it when you are like a boy at christmas …..
And because you are so enthousiast I get enthousiast too!
Thank you for the way you are … not many people express them self like they should.
and thank you Adobe!
I don’t use Lightroom at all and I thought when I opened the new ACR it was very much like Lightroom and I was disappointed. But since playing around with it I can see where the benefits in the new layout exist. I am sure I will get used to it in no time. Thanks for the demo Blake.
Thanks Blake for helping us get started with the updates. Sometimes change is overwhelming. I appreciate your teaching style. As an old timer I get it.
Also appreciate seeing a Chiefs shirt as I spent most of my life in the KC area.
Love It
Thanks for this quicker than Lucky Luke explanation as you say awesome new ACR
Awesome intro to the new updates. Thanks so much Blake. Great work for sure!
Thanks for the quick update on ACR!!!
Do you know what happened to the masking in the sharpening menu? It seems to have disappeared. Any alternatives?
Thanks for this quick update on ACR!!
Any idea what happened to masking in de detail/sharpening menu, or what might be good alternatives? I can’t find it!
Does anyone know how to load presets from their previous ACR to the current version? I can’t seem to get mine to work. Wondering if I’ll just have to rebuild then or if there’s a conversion that has to be done for 12.3 to be able to read the .XMP file?
My presets followed over from the previous version. However, I wish the rest of the updated PS would behave as well as ACR!
Did you ever discover how to get your presets back? Mine have all disappeared. Is that the problem, that 12.3’s presets are not .XMPs?
how do you preview local adjustments now?!
Preview only shows me the original image now. the eye icon works great in the different sections, but where is this for the adjustment brush graduated filter etc?
So, how about Preview for only Radial Filter or Brush adjustments (without seeing all other adjustments done via other panels)? I do not want to see side by side before and after. I want to have an “eye” so I can click it ON and OFF. Where is it? And shortcut that worked before is no longer there (Option+Command+P).
I’m right there with you. I don’t work for Adobe. I have no idea why they didn’t do that. But bringing it up here isn’t the best forum for that. You can request it through Adobe. https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html
