Thinking of it as tweaking the sensitivity of the three types of colour sensors is easily understandable both for what it does and why or how you could use it.
If you are wrong about how it works, Adobe should re-engineer it so you are *right*.
This kind of insight is one of the reasons why I keep buying many of your courses/products even though not a lot sinks into my colour-challenged (red/green) brain that is still translating from Tri-X in a BW darkroom into Photoshop.
