I am reminded of the Back to the Future theme song by Huey Lewis and the News, “That’s the power, that’s the power of Curves”, oh wait that was the power of love. Anyway, the curves adjustment layer runs a lot deeper than you think in the post processing world. If it does not have a place in your workflow, you may want to watch this one and see how you can use curves not only for white balance.
In this tutorial I will show you how I breakdown an image into it’s 3 main parts, Highlight, Shadow, and Mid tones and modify them independently with the power of curves. I even throw in a pretty cool dollar fifty trick you can tell all your friends!
that was very good..thanks
Excellent tutorial. Thanks I understand much more about selective editing.
No Problem Chris, I am glad you dropped by!

Hope to see more of this kind of really gr8 tutorial in future.

Amazing tutorial. Thank you so much. I do most of my editing with curves, so… I’m a curves fan !! That selection you do with only the shadows, the highlights and midtones into individual adjustment layers is just a game changer for me. Thank you so much. You rock!! Oh, and by the way… so does biscuits!
My wife makes some awesome beer biscuits with Bisquick, she replaces the water or milk or whatever with beer. That is the way to my heart! I am glad you found this video helpful, if you want her awesome recipe for beer biscuits head over to her blog
