I think even Dorothy would be lost at the sight I saw last week. I was leaving work and happened to look over my shoulder as I was crossing the lake from the Kansas to the Missouri side, there were hundreds of Pelicans just hanging out in the water. Normally these would be geese, maybe even ducks, but never in the mass of hundreds! I haven’t seen one since we left California so this scene was pretty comforting for me. Unfortunately for me, I was without my trusty camera! I returned the next morning for the sunrise to see if they would show up in the masses they were in the day before.
I was not very happy with my shots of the Pelicans the next day. I could not get close enough to the water to get a good shot on them and there weren’t nearly as many as there were the day before. I did, however, learn a valuable lesson!
Photo Tip For The Week
Bring your camera with you whenever possible! I am now going to be carrying my camera with me everyday on my way to and from work. You never know when you are going to miss that shot, notice I say miss that shot, I missed mine the day before this one.
