I often get requests in my inbox due to the nature of the blogs. Some requests are very odd, while others are simply friendly words of encouragement or a quick thank you for a tutorial. I accept them all with open arms and respond to every one of them!
A few months ago I was contacted by Reb Orrell of the Creative Photography Society, formerly known as the Baltimore HDR Photography Club. He was wondering if I would be a judge for their upcoming banquet (today). I was absolutely honored that Reb would ask me to do such a thing. I was stoked actually, I wanted to sound like a giddy little child telling him how awesome that was, but I held my composure and responded politely concealing the moment of overjoy!
I respect what Reb and the folks in the Creative Photography Society are doing. It is not often that you hear about a Banquet for a photography group. In the age of Google +, Facebook, 500px, and Flickr it is difficult to find a group of photog’s that actually meetup like this and inspire one another in person let alone have a year end banquet. I greatly appreciate their group and what they are doing, so much so, that I sent them a personal email with a copy of 11 Things thanking them for their community involvement.
Keep it up Creative Photography Society I cannot wait to see where you guys take this Society in the coming year!
