I love Blend If. That’s no secret. I routinely praise it here on f.64 Academy, BUT it has problems.
There are things I don’t like about it.
There are things I wish Adobe would do with it.
There are things I wish were easier with it.
I could sit here and hope that my wishes came true. Or I could do something about it. So that’s what I did. You are about to see Blend If on a whole new level thanks to my great buddy Tonee Gee who codes my panels. I firmly believe the Gee stands for Geenius!

What is the advantage of using this method compared to TK8 panel?
I don’t use other people’s panels. But I do use my own and my ZSE 7 is very similar to TK8 from what I have seen. This is strictly a Blend If Panel. I wanted a small-lightweight solution for a BIG Photoshop problem. We designed this panel do do one thing and do it WELL and that is Blend If. This panel is not a replacement for anything in your workflow. Its a tool that can work in tandem with just about anything you are currently using.
Alright, Blake, since I trust you, I’ll buy it. If I end up not liking it (not a chance of this, of course), I’ll send the Soup Nazi (from Seinfeld) to your house and he’ll tell you on my behalf: “No coffee money for you!!” Thanks again for developing a panel that I know will be very useful.
Blake, you identified in your YouTube channel some shortcomings with the first release of the of the blend if extension. After purchasing the extension, I too came upon these same challenges using the product. I look forward to when you can enhance these, but I understand it will take time. What I hope most is that you will not allow too much time to pass that those of us that were early adopters are sidelined or even worse caused to have to pay for a V2 that includes features that were really essential in V1. I have had this happen to me with other developers and it never feels good. I appreciate you considering your loyal customers as you improve the extension.
No worries at all there..I would never make anyone pay for the upcoming update. That’s messed up. Me panel, yes, but not a update like this. All good.
Just a note that this BlendIf panel is a game changer for my workflow. The level of control and impact on images (often subtle, but important) is astounding, and I’m using it more and more in place of luminosity masks. In fact, I might even go so far as to say it’s one of the most – if not the most – useful panel’s I’ve purchased. One question I have is whether the panel’s commands will work in a recorded action (I guess I’ll try that tonight but it would be great if it does!).
Feature request (while I’m here!): add a few general processing buttons for convenience to the panel (levels, curves, HSL, etc.).
Bug fix: returning to the panel after going to a different layer often doesn’t show the blendif that was set (it’s still there but doesn’t show in the panel viewer)
