Hi Blake, you missed the biggest update to Camera Raw. HDR for now it’s only supported for Macs & has to be switched on though preferences
I can’t miss something I don’t have 🙁 I’m on a PC, so I can’t even see said HDR capabilities let alone share it with you, haha. But from what I gather, that won’t help much from a printing standpoint because it’s meant for HDR displays. To me, that feels more like a look what we can do feature than a helpful workflow feature unless it’s for display purposes only.
In the future, I see huge possibilities for it, and it is in the infancy stages. But I’m on a PC so I can’t even experience it.
Blake works on a PC, not a Mac! I have been away at a photography festival and trying out new things so I will be adding in a lot of your advice, Blake, especially for the B&W images!
Blake – will you have an update on the new Photoshop release as well?
Probably not. Did you see the release notes, haha, abysmal update. They did refine the selections and that’s good for us, otherwise there’s nothing really to talk about. It would be the fastest Photoshop update video ever. Maybe I should do it to prove a point to Adobe, haha
Great video as always Blake. Clear, interesting and fun thank you.
Certainly!
Well done. Excellent overview of a big new thing. You and Matt K. are helping me a lot as I develop my post processing skills. Many thanks.
Thank you! You are in good hands with us, I’d say… but I am biased, haha
I just love your enthusiasm as much as I love these new updates …. looking forward to perhaps a video on how you would change your workflow in Zone Express … by the way, do you have any plans to update Zone Express and Palette Effects?
Hey Pamela! My pleasure! So my workflow won’t change much at all. Nothing major update will change how I use my panels as they are in Ps, and these curves feature is in ACR. So the workflow stays the same.
Currently, we are in version ZSE7 and PE 4. I don’t have plans to update them anytime soon. Maybe next year, but I’m still planning out next year’s releases.
Just love your enthusiasm, Blake! Thanks for showing us what’s new and how to make use of the updates.
🙂 My sincere pleasure! I love what I get to do for a living. I pray you are well, my friend!
Thanks for the video, Blake! Working on my Oregon images and updated for the new ACR release. Love these changes.
For sure! Great stuff. It was a pleasure to finally meet you in real life 😉
Thanks, Blake! As always, very instructive.
Great job Blake, to give in a few minutes insight into the most important changes of ACR15.0!!! Thanks for that!
hi Blake, I was waiting for your reaction to the updates in the new version of ACR, and after a little while: her thee are! I share with you the enthousiasm about the the curves adjustments, and also the emprooved (to me ) detecting of the auto masking of the skies and subjects, many things I was waiting for.I’m looking forward to watch your next video with some more details and tricks about these and others new features…thank you
They finally added my native language to Lightroom. This is Polish and I finally pay and receive the goods in a language that I understand. In addition, you can change the language in Photoshop from the panel position and not the cloud. And these are big changes for me and many other users. Greetings from Poland from the city of “Fortress Przemyśl”. I would like to mention that the changes to the RAW camera described in your film are also a big leap forward and make your work much easier.
Blake
I love this. Thank you again for pushing my limits.
Great video Blake. The new curves adjustment in masks for ACR is a fantastic addition indeed. Disappointing that they did not add this feature in Lightroom Classic too (or did I miss something)!
Blake, its a good update……will you be updating “Chroma” or “ZSE 7” because of this ACR 15 update?
I may, but only if I see a place for it in either. I’ve barely had time to look at anything critically yet.
Your demos and explanations are the best available for Photoshop and Lightroom/Camera Raw. It’s just the right depth and length, and the various demonstrations you do really make the changes come to life. I’ll never get tired of your enthusiasm and delight in what you can do to make an image even better.
Selecting Sky and Curve adjustment above does not seem to work with Lightroom Classic. As soon as I went over to Camera Raw Filter in the PS, I could replicate what you showed in the vide.
Great video.
For those of us that are left handed LR Classic just released an update that allows us to swap the position of the panels as we could do previously in PS. This makes editing more convenient as you don’t need to move pen across the screen. When you talk to Adobe perhaps they might consider this change for ACR as well.
That’s interesting.
I don’t talk to Adobe ? I’m just like everyone else in their eyes.
