Just like this guy! So much personality in something as simple as a pair of binoculars at Niagara Falls. These things already look like smiling happy faces, but when they have a nice layer of ice on them they look incredibly cheerful!
Photo Tip:
When you are out shooting some place epic, like Niagara Falls, be sure to take a look around a bit. Don’t let yourself get so distracted by the big picture that you miss the pleasant little things. I nearly walked right passed this animated little guy as I was so overwhelmed by the enormous fall in front of me. Turns out, this was probably my best shot from the entire outing.
Hmmm, I probably could have used this advice about a week ago, seeing as how I just finished shooting in Yellowstone this morning. Oh well, still have several more days in the Tetons…
Yeah, usually advice, whether good or bad, always seems to come after the fact! I hate that! Have fun on your trip, that sounds like a blast, I would love to hit up Yellowstone and photograph it. Someday! Take care Nick!
Actually, I was just kidding about needing the advice earlier. I’ve been filling up about 8 GB of pics (all RAW) a day and downloading them at night. Everything from geysers and mountains to textures from hot springs and burned up trees from the 1988 fire (imagine an entire forest of dead lodgepole pines). I’ve hardly had any time to post process anything. You definitely need to visit Yellowstone sometime and the Tetons as well. I’d also highly recommend staying in the parks and booking lodging eight or nine months before you decide to go…
