The Adobe Photoshop Bootcamp Course with Creative Live
To say the last few months has been crazy is an understatement. I received a call from Creative Live back in December. They were curious if I’d be interested in doing a vast Photoshop course that covers everything from start to finish. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity without realizing just how much would need to be done from December until March.
Before I go too far into the course, please allow me to explain why I have been so quiet on this site. For starters, my brain is still comprehending how I went from December to March in less than 24 hours… it has gone by entirely too fast. I haven’t been able to produce much content for the Academy site because of the prep work required for this course, a trip to France, and let’s not forget the entire month of January spent as a guest coach for ON1.
Some people think I have a team…. nope, I do it all from the blog posts to the video editing, to the content creation, the course development, the email, and the customer service. Do I need help, I think I may need to start hiring 🙂
As you can see I have been busy, but I can promise you, I will make up for all that lost time with this course. It is a total of 20 lessons, and each lesson is targeted between 60 & 90 minutes in length. It is huge! While I am referring to this as a course, and yes there is a fee associated with it if you want all the downloads and follow-along images, you are free to RSVP and watch the Live sessions free of charge.
We are covering a lot. From opening Photoshop for the first time to in-depth looks at layers, masks, selections, Smart Objects, Adobe Camera Raw, Bridge, Actions, Portrait Retouching, Workflow, and compositing. This course is everything I have ever wanted to produce but never had the team to do it. Joining forces with Creative Live to build it just puts the icing on the cake.
If you want to join us, please use either the RSVP link below or join us in the studio audience if you live in the Seattle area.
The Photoshop boot camp looks like it will be one heck of a good course looking forward to buying it I have been using photoshop for 8 years but I know I will learn a great deal from this course
I am always learning new things in Photoshop. Just building this course I learned 15 new things at least!
I am pretty sure my number will be a lot higher LOL
It amazes me every time I watch YouTube videos about what people can do with Photoshop. Still the basic things that Photoshop can do amaze me the most, of course you can do very complicated tasks in Photoshop but the strength this application brings is kept in the simple things. I definitely learn new things every time and if Blake has learned 15 new things by just compiling this new course I can learn at least twice that amount. Keep on doing such great work I always enjoy watching your tutorials.
Thanks, Carl! You are so right. I learn a lot of tricks from my buddy Jim Welninski every time I see him work. It is awesome. Gotta love Photoshop!
Blake you have made such a difference to my workflow .. you are a guru worthy of the name.. all the work that you put into your presentations makes it exciting to watch every time …
Oh man! Thanks so much! I really appreciate your kind words in a time when I need them most. This opportunity is amazing, but the butterflies haven’t stopped fluttering 🙂
Rather expensive from the UK. When will you be visiting our shores?
Not sure, nothing in the books right now :/
Blake. How much will buying the course cost, as I won’t be able to watch live. I bought your zone system workflow, but it goes unused because I am totally uncomfortable with Photoshop. Perhaps this could help me in both ways.
This would help tremendously! You can click on the link above to RSVP, watching it live is free. If you want access to the course anytime, that page will also show the price. Right now (as of this writing) there is a discount for it, so it is a very handsome price for the extent of the content you are going to receive.
Hi Blake, what are the viewing times for the UK please?
Not sure. You could use a Time Zone converter to see when they will air.http://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/
when the video course will on line
It starts March 12th and ends April 6th
Hi Blake,
This sounds great. You mentioned if you pay the fee you get all the downloads and follow-along images. Just to be clear, does this mean you can download all the video tutorials? Sometimes I have to watch tutorials a couple of times or if it’s been a while since I’ve used a technique I might need a refresher course. I’m glad to hear you are going to start from “How to open Photoshop”. The simple basics are sometimes the one thing that is keeping me from completing a task/action. Thank you!
Hello Melissa! I just found this on their help section about how to download the course.

Hey Blake,
I am a million miles away for the next few months (Hong Kong China) so can’t make it in person to your course. I would definitely want to buy it, so look forward to details about how to do that when you’re ready.
thanks a lot,
Roger
Oh no! Well you can still catch the course when you are ready and able. You can purchase it here and download it or stream it when you are ready:

Hi Blake,
I am looking forward to your classes at Creative Live! For intermediate students like me it is good help that you divided the 20 days of bootcamp into 120 lessons.
So I can sometimes pick out and sometimes skip lessons – for me classes 1 to 58 with almost none to pick and 59 to 120 with few to skip. But a disadvantage of this could be that I miss some tricks or special hints you reveal in the skipped ones. Is there another way to get these beads and diamonds of yours than to watch every single class? I´ve only got the ideas, that you could refer to them during your introductions into the topics or put them on a “list for the intermediates“.
Good luck for the recording days
Joerg
That’s a tricky question. I haven’t produced most of this content anywhere else. For instance, I have never really talked about the absolute basics of layers and how they work. The only real way to pick up all the nuggets is to watch the course and pick and pull what you need.
Right now those are all tentative topics, they will more than likely stay the same, but we may fluctuate some of them here and there. When the course is fully recorded, that section will be more accurate. They built that from my notes and right now I do not intend on changing my ideas, but there is always a slight possibility.
Great first episode, Blake. Really well done. The presentation was clear and organized well. Very easy to follow and learn along the way. Highly recommended.
Creative Live do not seem to be able to send your videos about layers (= day 5) in whole. They twice stopped after some minutes about adjustment layers – long before the end – and continued broadcasting the recording of day 4.
Two emails sent to them did not help.
What can I – or you – do?
Oh, I was impatient. After about three hours they had fixed it.
Morning from Tasmania Australia, Blake
Interested in the boot camp but would like to purchase it outright without signing into the free showings
Cheers

I’m following the course – even bought it – and I am learning !!!
I love the sneaky ‘humor parts’ inbetween !! !!
I use lightroom for my library, moved away from bridge. Will the first lessons discuss Bridge and it works in comparison to Lightroom?
Thanks for your time.
