Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk is the reason why you are reading my posts today. Seriously, it was one of those “Butterfly Effect” moments in my life. I signed up for a photo walk and met Matt Kloskowski on the walk, unbeknownst to me who he was, I spoke to him as if he were not a photographer for quite sometime as he showed up without a camera. I found that odd but we talked for quite some time and made our way back to the vehicles after the walk had finished. I had expressed interest in Photoshop several times so Matt offered me his card and told me to get a hold of him if I was interested in going to Photoshop World.
One thing led to another and there I was at Photoshop World in Las Vegas in September of 2010. After the Blogging seminar I spoke with Matt Kloskowski once again, who this time encouraged me to start a blog. Thanks again Matt, I am not sure if I mean that facetiously or not…Just kiddin! I love it, it might be a lot of work, but it may be the most rewarding filed just under raising a child in my beautiful family.
To bring this post full circle, you never know what life is going to throw your way. It is crazy to imagine that one simple decision in front of a computer screen, like signing up for a Photo Walk, can change the outcome of your life forever. Is it really a far stretch to think that this blog has changed my life, not at all. Because of it, I have seen a dramatic change in my Photography as I push myself to continually challenge my photographic workflow. This is one of those moments I can kindly reflect and thank that butterfly for flapping its wings.
Last year I hosted a Photo Walk in Weston Bend State Park. The photos strewn about are from that Photo Walk. I hope to host another one this year with a bit more success.
