I jumped on the band wagon of photographers all over the world last night and shot for the moon.  The last Lunar Eclipse to occur on Winter Solstice was 1634 and the next one won’t be until 2094, I had to take advantage of the once in a life time experience.  It wasn’t too cold in Santa Clara, California making it very easy to stay out there for a prolonged period of time.  I shot all of the images in a series of 5 exposures, as I always do, and shot more than 450 photographs in a 2 hour window.  It was difficult to sort through them but I managed.  Here are a couple of singles followed by a time stamped map (on a 24 hour clock).

I found it difficult to get a decent HDR with Tonemapping so I used Photomatix Exposure Fusion instead, I like the turn out.
