HAPPY NEW YEAR!  I am not one to make resolutions because I don’t support the notion of making a promise to myself I cannot keep.  Instead of a resolution I am going to resolve a problem I have with Photography.  This problem is something that has been buggin’ me since I started HDR photography…Portraits in HDR.  You would think you could make some bad ass portraits in HDR but they always come out dirty looking.  There has to be something I can do in the Post Processing to make them look better without blurring the skin to smithereens like you see in Maxim magazines.  On that note, listen guys, all the girls in Maxim, GQ, and Stuff magazine have had a Photoshop train run on them, ever heard of Surface blur, Gaussian blur, Smart blur.  Unfortunately, you will not find a woman that looks like that…….. ever.  So how can I make HDR portraits look better without running a Photoshop blur train on them?  I started last night by shooting some self portraits.

*DISCLAIMER*

I am rarely in front of the camera, what happens next is out of my control.

I think I will do this every year to see how much my face changes from 28 years old to 82 years old.  I’ll even do my eyes, my Mom says they are brown because I am so full of shit, I mean poop, sorry I try to keep my posts PG.    Based on Mom’s theory, they should get more brown as I get older.

This is not a Pseudo HDR, I don’t do those, this is 5 legit exposures, yeah that took over 345 takes to keep my eye from moving, hence ISO 1000.
