The new Sky Replacement Tool in Photoshop is pretty awesome and does a wonderful job with tricky sky replacements. But, Adobe added an even better tool into Photoshop 2021. Yes, even better than the Sky Replacement Tool!
Personally, I don’t find myself replacing skies as often as I would need the Sky Replacement Tool. I do, however, make a lot of selections in my photos, and having the ability to make a sky selection opens incredible doors for landscape post-production!

Hi Blake, Thank you so much for another great tutorial and set of Actions. I was aware of the Sky Replacement feature in the new PS update, but not Select Sky. I can see using Select Sky and your Actions for many of my landscape photographs. It will be interesting to see if this impacts my use of the Color Zone System in ZSE6 by instead using Select Sky and Color Balance to a greater extent. Keep up the great work!

I have been using and studying Photoshop since Photoshop 3, no not CS 3 . It is an ongoing process to keep learning how to do new things and keep up with the changes. I surely wish I had some of these new features when I was working at The National Geographic Society preparing Images for production in our various products. Although we could not alter the elements of a photographic, everything had to be true and accurate, those selection and advances in color , contrast and exposure control would have made my life easier.
