Yesterday was the first day in the last 10 years that I had to shovel snow…  Yeah we got caught in that jumble that spun through the Mid-West!  It was pretty interesting, the night before started out with rain and thunderstorms, which turned to pea sized hail and then a full on blizzard that howled through the window screens.  We woke up Thursday morning with about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground!

AC209069I took the young man out there for his first encounter with snow, we had a blast!  Although it wasn’t quite packing snow so a snowman was out of the question!  It was classic watching him grab his shoes the minute we showed him what was outside.  Crazy how a 20 month old who has never seen snow would be so excited to go play in it.

So today’s tutorial is all about how to make this snow stuff look better in your HDR photographs.  The tutorial will start in Photomatix and move it’s way into Photoshop for the finishing touches.  The before and after images are at the bottom of the page.  Enjoy, Happy Holidays, don’t forget to submit your Festive HDR Pic to the Forum for your free Actions Package!
