The Critiquer Gets Critiqued!

As you may know,  I conduct critique sessions on f.64 Elite.  I have been doing these sessions for over 7 years and in that time have critiqued just about 900-1000 images.  But in that time, I have never had a critique session of my own.  I am a firm believer that a  good critique session makes all the difference in your growth as a photographer.

Please do not confuse that with posting images to social media.   Flickr, Instagram, Facebook, etc., are not designed for good constructive feedback. Everyone there will love your work regardless and fail to tell you what you really need to hear!  I am talking about a good session with someone knowledgeable who can give you honest feedback in the name of growth.

I recently asked Gavin Hardcastle, comedic genius and phenomenal landscape photographer, aka fototripper, to come on over to f.64 Academy and critique some of my portfolio images.   To return the favor, I went over to his channel to teach him a thing or two about selections in Photoshop.  The result of our efforts is two incredibly funny videos that teach at the same time.

Enjoy this little break from social media, the current travesties of television media, and relax while you learn about photography 🙂

Blake Rudis
f.64 Academy and f.64 Elite are the brainchildren of Blake Rudis. While he is a landscape photographer he is most passionate about post-processing images in Photoshop and mentoring others.

For Blake, it is less about the art and more about the process. He dives deep into difficult topics and makes them easy to understand through his outside the box thinking.
