Making My Boys Smile in Photoshop π
Wanna hear the story of how I made my boys smile in Photoshop? This last Mother’s Day my wife wanted nothing more than a picture of all of us together on Mother’s Day.Β
We don’t get dressed up much, in fact with my wife being a stay at home superheroine and me working in the dungeon, we find ourselves in pajamas (my wife would clarify that they are house clothes) more often than not.Β We made a very deliberate attempt at church to get a shot of us all dressed up (well, outside clothes for all intents and purposes).Β Β
My boys, they didn’t provide us with a smile, so I made them smile in Photoshop.Β They may learn their lesson in the future π
In today’s tutorial,Β I will show you how to get creative with your anti-smiling children and make them learn to enjoy the snap-happy Mom moments all at the same time!Β If this doesn’t put a smile on your face today, I don’t know what will.Β I needed to lighten things up after last week’s post π
Photoshop Foundations: Cleanup Tools
In all seriousness,Β if you want to get REALLY good at cloning things like this in your photos, you have got to see my Photoshop Foundations Cleanup Tools Course!Β
Very useful, Blake! But I must admit that it’s funny seeing your kids with daddy’s beard.
Oh yes! My personal Facebook page had a kick with it.
So easy and such fun. You should keep this photo for their 21st birthdays!
GREAT Video! It is obvious that you enjoy and have fun with your work.
Many thanks – Louis
I do love what I do! I like to have fun with it too to break up the monotony.
Good work Blake – Your boys are now smiling… in the future, perhaps if you shaved first then make the boys smile they would not have beards… and you could always grow your beard again!!! LOL!!
I did put my coffee down as you suggested.
Thanks for the smiles and giggles too!
What fun would that be? haha, the little rascals will grow into them!
It would have been even funnier if the βafterβ result would have shown you without your beard and a look of someone who just had his beard stolen!….
haha! That would have been great!
Great tutorial and it also cracked me up. And you are right, your wife is going to kick your butt. π
All the best,
Vinny
She loved it, thought it was very funny. I picked a winner π
It’s really too bad this will be your last tutorial (I really have enjoyed them); any hints as to where your funeral will be held? Butt kick probably deserved, but hope she smiles through it π
as usual, helpful, informative for other applied needs as well. Thanks for making things fun:-)
haha! I showed her last night before it went live. She loved it, laughed the whole time. Phew! that could have gone the other way π
I needed this today! A good belly laugh and some Photoshop learnin’
Thanks Blake!
π Glad I could provide!
So funny. This made me smile also.
Good for not doing your wife’s smile.
They grow up so fast these days!
Wow 3 boys! Your wife is a saint!
I think you and the family should rake out membership of this,

That was good fun.
Thanks
This was great Blake, not only for the lesson but for the smiles, (no pun intended)!! Keep em coming!
LOL You are a HOOT!
I have some photos with my children smiling so nicely, those could be copied over to those photos without smiles, with a little PS magic!
Thanks for the fun post, and the info stuff, too!
Many years ago, I saw a sticker on an old cash register. It said, “If you see someone without a smile then give them one of yours”. That supermarket is not around any more but you’ve taken the message to another level.
