Several months ago Andrew Kavanaghthe creator of the Photoshop and Lightroom Group, asked me if I’d be interested in an interview and doing a webinar event for Adobe Connect.  I was flattered, humbled, dumbfounded, and overjoyed all at the same time.  Really, talk about an odd rush of emotions all occurring at once!  At the time the Photoshop and Lightroom Group had 70,000 members, that was in January, it now has over 100,000!  That is incredible growth and a very intimidating audience.

After some serious thought about what I could offer, I came to the conclusion that I should go with what I know, Tone and Color.  The title of this course is Tone and Color Mastery, however, we all know that you cannot master tone and color in a matter of a one hour free webinar.  The idea is to get you thinking about the 2 most powerful elements in Photo Editing.

These days we have so many ways to edit images via presets, plugins, and Actions that hide behind the veil of workflow simplification.  However, the opposite occurs, we end up convoluting and often times polluting our workflow with too much stuff.  I am a firm believer that you do not need to purchase a ton of “stuff” if you truly understand tone and color.

In this webinar I will be imparting my knowledge of tone and color to further enhance your Photoshop Tool kit.  Here are just some of the topics that will be covered:

  1. The Histogram
  2. Black and White Conversions
  3. The Tonal Curve to Adjust Images
  4. Dodging and Burning
  5. The Digital Color Wheel
  6. The Color Wheel and image editing
  7. Gradient Maps for Tonal Grading
